Can I drive a truck or bus on a trial shift?
Without a Class 2 license (二種免許) and driver registration, you cannot drive a taxi or bus in commercial service. Trucking companies must also give newly hired drivers new-driver training and an aptitude assessment, and forklifts require a completed course. So trial shifts for driving jobs are likely to center on riding along, yard work and watching loading. What you can do differs by company, so check before you apply.
If I do a visit or trial shift, do I have to join that company?
No. There is no obligation to move on to hiring after a visit or trial shift.
Does it cost anything? Will I get sales calls?
